Who am I?

Hello friends,

My name is Jean Lazarus. I am a mother of three young adults living in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Professionally, I have a post graduate Honors degree in Counseling psychology from the University of South Africa.

I have received specific trainings in trauma informed care, motivational interviewing, domestic violence, sexual assault and trafficking support and codependency, among many other trainings.

I have worked for 12 years in domestic violence shelters, supporting the unhoused population locally and supporting people with serious and persistent mental illnesses and those in recovery.

I have worked both one on one and in support group settings.

Spiritual path: I have had the honor of participating in and helping to facilitate medicine ceremonies regularly over the last decade.  I have had the honor to watch incredible healings and transformations take place and I have been providing active support to my local community during these years. I have been actively studying under several indigenous Chiefs and elders during this time and have been passed the rites to do certain ceremonies.

Beliefs: I am a humble student of life. I see that powerful healing can come through the spirits of plant medicines in the correct container. I believe in the importance of formal training and lineage in the leaders of medicine ceremonies. I believe that love is the answer no matter the question. It is my calling to support my community to get healthier. I believe that the best is yet to come for our human race.
