The Integration Process

Leaning deeper into ‘the how' of this process of healing

When we first connect, please come planning to share some of what you would like to work on. My process is often to take this initially to grandfather tobacco to pray and ask if I have the medicine to support you. I will reach back out to you soon to share that answer. Please remember that all contact is contained by complete confidentiality.

I see these healing containers as a process of mutual work. Much like the medicine, these sessions can inform you, but, it is you who needs to do the work to embody change. I will frequently suggest homework to engage in between sessions.

Our goal will often be to bring our work from a knowing of the head into a knowing of the heart and the body.

There are many ways to work together and I will tailor our connection to serve your goals and timeline.

Primarily, this is a space that honors the wisdom garnered from your medicine experiences. I am grateful that as a coach I can recommend a wide variety of spiritual tools to support your journey. Our experiences in the medicine can often be so big, that it can be helpful to have someone to process and ground these with.

There are certain aspects of the human experience that are common amongst us. These come up often enough that I will share some ideas for areas that we can work on. So, for example, while working through a 6 session regeneration program, we can plan to target 3 or 4 of these subjects, if they resonate for you. Please note that each session is tailored for the individual, the subjects below are simply suggested topics.

❋ Self Love / Self Esteem

There is incredible power in learning to truly love ourselves. Without it, love following into us from others, flows out like water in a bucket with a hole in it. When we truly love ourselves, we are much more confident in our decisions and behaviors, because we look inside for validation. As we learn to be kind to ourselves, our mistakes are received with gentleness rather than shame - a much more effective space to evolve from. Self love is not about bolstering our ego, rather it is a space that requires less validation and attention from others.

❋ Relationships

The African concept of Ubuntu means that “people are people through other people”. As humans, our social lives are powerful predictors of our general well being. Let us assess who is in your life and which relationships need work and what work is worth doing.

❋ Making Changes

Often the medicine shines a light in an aspect of our lives that we are ready to shift but we just don’t know how to put it into practice. Together we can work on step by step goals to let go of things that no longer serve us and create a new, healthier reality for ourselves.

❋ Well Being

Let’s face it… this time of human history has its challenges and can leave us feeling depressed, frustrated, hopeless and drained at times. However, many spiritual traditions remind us that we always have the power within us to mediate our mood and our responses, no matter what the circumstances around us. Certain simple practices like gratitude can transform our mood. Another practice that involves mindfulness, reminds us that our thoughts determine our emotions which in turn impacts our actions. Targeting and working with certain thoughts, can truly transform our experience of life.

❋ Codependency

Many of us struggle to free ourselves from unhealthy relationships. Often we fear that if we are not there to support a certain other person, the ‘wheels will come off’ of a situation. As a student of Al-anon, I use many of these tools to help refocus on our own needs

❋ Trauma Work

Traumas often result from overwhelming experiences from the past that deeply impact our ability to function. Medicines like Ayahuasca have the powerful capacity to help us rewrite these experiences. Frequently we find that the hardest challenges that life has offered us becomes not only our biggest teachers but points in the direction of where we can help others. I do not claim to be a trauma therapist but I am equally not shy to talk about these experiences. I can offer support with integration of the wisdom brought to you by the medicine on these topics.

❋ Healthy Boundaries

Do you have trouble saying no or feel like if you speak your mind others may not like you? Many of us are taught to forego our own needs in the service of others. This can leave us feeling many negative emotions. Learning about setting healthy boundaries can be so empowering and leave us more actively engaged in our experience of life.

❋ Stories

We all have old stories that are lodged in our body, silently directing our beliefs and behaviors. Let us examine and rewrite these together…. Creating a new and beautiful story together.

All experience is either a lesson or a blessing.
